According to Razumkov, the Minsk agreements did not specify the law for holding elections, but only indicated they should be held under Ukrainian law.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov has said there are all legislative acts in accordance with the Minsk agreements to hold elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas.

According to him, the Minsk agreements did not specify the law for holding elections, but only indicated they should be held under Ukrainian law. “The elections should be held according to Ukrainian law. In fact, the law on elections has been passed, and it allows holding elections in the temporarily occupied territories. I don’t think that we need a separate law,” Razumkov told NewsOne TV channel, according to the Novoe Vremya online publication.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s aide Andriy Yermak said Ukraine would come to the next meeting of the Normandy Four with a package of agreements that will allow local elections to be held in October throughout the country, including the certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
