Minimum wage in Ukraine exceeds figures of Belarus and Russia

Open source Since January 1, 2020, for the first time in many years the minimum wage in Ukraine has outstripped that of Russia and Belarus. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Serhiy Nikolaychuk on his Facebook page.

Nikolaychuk noted that in recent years Ukraine has managed to offset the lag that actually appeared after the 2008 crisis and deepened as a result of the 2014-15 crisis.

The deputy minister also unveiled a schedule according to which the minimum salary of Ukrainians last time exceeded the figures of the Russian Federation and Belarus in 2007. 

We recall that from January 1, 2020, the minimum wage is 4723 UAH (190 USD). Compared to December 2019, the minimum wage increased by 550 UAH (22 USD).

In addition, from January 1, the minimum wage for 1 hour has increased by almost 3 UAH.

In regional terms, the largest salaries are received by residents of Kyiv – an average of 15 974 UAH (640 USD) per month.
