Ukraine does not recognize Russian passports illegally issued to the citizens of occupied territories

In 2019, 196,000 citizens of temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions received Russian citizenship on the simplified procedure. 232 applications were rejected as TASS reported citing Interior Ministry of Russia.

Moreover, the ministry stated that 126,000 citizens of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics received Russian passports and about 60,000 citizens of other areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions got the passports.

According to the Russian Interior Ministry, 232 applications for obtaining of Russian citizenship were rejects, including due to the restrictions on entry to Russia, unexpired convictions, criminal prosecution by Russian bodies and bodies of other countries.

April 24, Russian President Putin signed the decree, which simplified the procedure of obtaining Russian citizenship for the residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. May 1, he signed another document that extended the right to get the Russian citizenship under the simplified procedure for other categories of Ukrainians, including the natives of Crimea and their relatives.

On June 14, it was reported that the citizens of occupied Donbas began to get the passports of the Russian Federation. These IDs were registered in the simplified order in accordance with the April order of the Russian president.

Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli stated that the EU leaders will discuss the issuance of the Russian passports to the citizens of occupied Donbas soon.

  1. Good! Now they have this passport, they can go replenish the dwindling Russian population. The border is quite close, go join the rest of the scum in Muscovy.

  2. Although we couldn’t care less, one should not forget that this russification is totally illegal and a violation of international treaties.

  3. That is less than 8% of the region’s total population. That is nothing to brag about after five years of occupation.

  4. 232 applications were rejected. Only because they clearly stated they were going to use the so-called passport to wipe their arses.

    I do hope those spineless fucks in the EU refuse to recognise these little booklets.

    196,000 ex-citizens had better start packing up ready to fuck off and don’t come back if they really are stupid enough to think life under the iron fist is better. Perhaps they prefer to take a shit outdoors, who can tell.
