Ukraine ready to exchange 88 DNR supporters for 53 Ukrainian citizens, – DNR ombudsman

Representatives of the so-called DNR (Donetsk People’s Republic) claimed that Ukraine is ready to exchange 88 detained DNR supporters who now stay in Ukrainian detention centers. Darya Morozova, the DNR ombudsman said so as quoted by DAN news agency, located in the occupied Donetsk.

“The Ukrainian side has so far confirmed [it could release] 88 people, and we confirmed 53”, Morozova said.

Previously, leaders of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin have so far agreed to hold another round of prisoners exchange. The deadline would be until December 31, 2019. A source in the Ukrainian delegation in Paris reported that after face-to-face talks between Ukraine and Russia’s leaders.

The previous round of prisoners’ exchange took place within the” 35 for 35″ format. On September 7, Ukraine welcomed back 24 sailors, detained in the Kerch Strait in November 2018, as well as Roman Sushchenko, Oleg Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, Pavlo Gryb, Stanislav Klykh and Mykola Karpyuk, Volodymyr Balukh, Yevhen Panov, Artur Panov, Edem Bekirov and Mykola Syzanovych.

    Putin up to his usual antics less than 24 hours after this meeting. Yesterday Zelensky said Ukraine drew up a list of 72 names, not 53. Have the other 19 been tortured to death?
