“I am very glad that such events are happening in Mariupol. This is the beginning. I think that we will have a ‘parade of cities’ of Ukraine, where the same talented people will be involved,” the president said.

Zelensky got himself acquainted with the startups presented by young entrepreneurs. In particular, these are projects aimed at fighting corruption, simplifying the provision of administrative services and increasing transparency of work of public authorities.

“We are looking for such people. There are a lot of them in Ukraine, and that’s cool. We congratulate you on the opening and we will help, invest in people,” he said.

He also called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov to pay attention to the startups presented at the center.

1991 Mariupol is a startup development center in eastern Ukraine and a new space for learning and developing IT initiatives in the region. 1991 Mariupol will be a meeting place for innovators, young talents, active citizens, local authorities, business representatives and investors. The project was initiated by Ukrainian civic tech NGO SocialBoost.
