The Government of the Russian Federation has decided to recognize the citizens of Ukraine as native speakers of Russian

The Government of the Russian Federation has approved the recognition of citizens of Ukraine and Belarus as native speakers of Russian without examinations. This status affects the receipt of a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation.

This is stated on the website of the Russian government.

Thus, the status of a native speaker of the Russian language gives the right to obtain a residence permit in Russia, as well as citizenship in a simplified manner. Owners of this status do not need to live in the country for five years to obtain a passport, reminds Public Radio.

Previously, the status of native speakers could be obtained without interview only by those whose parents were permanently resident in the Russian Federation or the territory of the Soviet Union, but within the current border of Russia.

It is known that in June 2019 in Russia began to issue Russian passports to residents of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine considers this a provocation.

It should be reminded that more than 50% of Ukrainians do not support granting the status of a second state language to the Russian language .

  • Muscovy must be getting desparate to increase their dwindling vodka soaked population. It’s time the UK recognised US, Canadian, Australian and many other countries as native speakers of English.

    • That is what I am afraid of too. Claiming citizens of other countries because they speak the CCCP language. I still think Ukraine should require visas from the Moskali. This would deter people from getting two passports (which is already illegal), find out who exactly is in the country, and make some money from Muskovia. They would begin requiring Ukrainians get a visa too but that’s ok because Ukrainians are much more likely to stay home.

  • Year by year, the number of native Ruskie speakers in Ukraine is dwindling … just like in other eastern European countries too and even in mafia land itself.
