Zelensky sacks Danylyuk as NSDC secretary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree dismissing Oleksandr Danylyuk as secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).

The decree was posted on the website of the head of state on Monday, September 30.

It was reported on September 27 that Danylyuk had tendered his resignation as NSDC secretary. Danylyuk later confirmed the report.

The Presidential Office said that Zelensky would consider Danylyuk’s resignation application upon his return from the United States.

Danylyuk was appointed NSDC secretary on May 28, 2019. He served as an adviser to Zelensky during the 2019 presidential campaign.

Prior to that, Danylyuk worked as finance minister in the government led by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman (from April 2016 to June 2018).

  1. Boy did he back the wrong horse.
Ze must think he has the IMF loans in the bag so he no longer needs to pretend to be a reformer.
