Seeing Putin in Hague court is my little dream, – Sentsov

He must be punished for downed Boeing and for crimes against Ukraine, Sentsov believes

Oleg Sentsov, who was previously freed from Russian imprisonment, believes that it would be fair if Russian President Vladimir Putin responded for his crimes in the Hague court. Sentsov added that this was his little dream. He stated this in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

“This is my little dream, because it would be fair – to punish him for crimes against Ukraine, against Russia, against Moldova, crimes against Georgia, against European citizens. We must answer for the downed Boeing,” Sentsov said. Thus, the film director answered the question of the journalist if he would like to see Putin in the Hague court.

Sentsov added that the Boeing 777 shot down in 2014 is a consequence of Putin’s system, for the same reason 13 000 people died in the war in Donbas, he believes

“I would like him (Putin – ed.) to respond for his actions in court in Hague,” he stressed.

On September 7, the prisoners’ exchange took place between Kyiv and Moscow in 35 for 35 format.

24 Ukrainian sailors and 11 political prisoners – already ex-political prisoners – captured by Russia over the past five years, returned to Ukraine. Faces of the released Ukrainian seamen, filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, left activist Oleksandr Kolchenko, journalist Roman Sushchenko, Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov and the rest of former captives were seen in the crowd.
