The meeting will take place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky will be held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York next week. This is stated on the White House website following a telephone conversation between Zelensky and US Vice President Mike Pence.

Pence and Zelensky also discussed their meeting in Warsaw, during which the US Vice President assured Zelensky of further US support. During the telephone conversation Zelensky focused on the importance of Washington’s defense support for the country.

On September 12, it was reported that the US Department of State authorized the allocation of $ 141.5 million for assistance in Ukraine’s security sphere.

US President Donald Trump does not rule out the possibility of joining the negotiations regarding peace in Ukraine. The Voice of America reports this. “I believe that the fact of prisoners’ exchange between Russia and Ukraine is a very big step, and a very positive step. If they needed me to join, I would join, but really, a very positive event took place,” Donald Trump said.

Earlier US President Donald Trump called the exchange of prisoners between the Russian Federation and Ukraine the good news and stated that this was a step towards peace, and his security adviser John Bolton considered that a serious event. Bolton also stressed that the United States continues to support the people of Ukraine.

  1. Bolton is an anti-putler hawk, so of course was sacked. So the info seems a bit out of date.
I recall an interview with Pence before he became VP, in which he also was very sound on putler. Whether he had to moderate that position since taking up the role I don’t know.
As we know, Trumpkov had a secret meeting with putler with no advisers or translators: the outcome is unknown.
However, it is great news that he will meet Zel. Here he has another, possibly final chance to show leadership and do the right thing by Ukraine. Get off the fence, condemn putler for mass murder, torture, lies and theft and announce specific measures designed to rid Ukraine of the occupiers once and for all. Declare France and Germany as dishonest brokers, declare Minsk and Normandy dead and move on to liberate Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.
And if he does those things I’ll eat my hat.

What is your opinion?
