US to help Ukraine get over winter without Russian gas

US Department of Energy will send experts to Ukraine to help Kyiv avoid possible disruptions of energy supplies from Russia, reports US Embassy in Ukraine on its Facebook page. American experts will help to create an action plan for the coming winter season. They will think of ways to respond to energy shortages.

Negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the European Union on extending the Russian gas transit through Ukraine will take place on September 19. Ukraine’s current contract with Russian company Gazprom for gas transit was signed in 2009 for ten years. Starting from 2020 Russian company intends to reduce gas transit through Ukraine as much as possible.

  1. Off topic. The Trump administration has released the hold on 250 million in military aid to Ukraine.

We support Ukraine. Period. End of discussion,” said Sen. John Kennedy, R-La.
“It would have been a mistake to hold back our assistance to the brave people of Ukraine. Doing so would have undermined our partners in Ukraine and Eastern Europe and further emboldened the Kremlin,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. R-Ky.
Separately, the State Department is giving $141 million in aid for the country’s military.

  2. Yeah, it’s great to see that the people of Ukraine have many friends in the United States………..
