Avakov appointed lustered ex-prosecutor as his adviser

Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov has appointed Dmitry Kavun, former deputy prosecutor in Kharkov and Odessa oblasts, as his volunteer adviser.

As an adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the former senior prosecutor will oversee the activities of authorities in the Kharkiv region.

“The task is to strengthen this direction, make maximum use of knowledge and experience, as well as owning the situation in the region. Naturally, overcoming crime in the region, corruption and other tasks that the ministry sets for itself in the Kharkov region, ”the Interior Ministry said .

In 2014, Kavun was included in the list of persons who are forbidden to hold positions in government in connection with the law on lustration. The ban is valid for 10 years – until 2024.

According to Dumskaya , Dmitry Kavun is the son of Yuri Kavun, a classmate and godfather of the former prosecutor general of the times of Viktor Yanukovich Viktor Pshonka.

Kavun Sr. was called one of the “family watching” Yanukovych. He served as First Deputy Head of the Black Sea Environmental Inspectorate.

  1. Seems nothing is changing in Ukraine. These Yanu criminals just change the job title to volunteer. I’m sure he’s doing this “volunteer” work out of his love for Ukraine.

  2. How is it the barn door is opened, and yet the ratz have come out? Normally when you open the barn door there is a bit of scurrying noises and all is quiet. Bold ratz these days if I say so!
