Ukraine’s Rada appoints Honcharuk Prime Minister

The Verkhovna Radа, Ukraine’s parliament, has appointed Deputy Head of the President’s Office Oleksiy Honcharuk as Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The relevant decision was backed by 290 MPs registered in the session hall, according to an UNIAN correspondent. The parliament supported the candidacy proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. UNIAN memo. Oleksiy Honcharuk, 35, worked as the deputy head of Zelensky’s office overseeing economic development and reforms.

In 2007, he graduated from Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, having Master’s degree in law. In 2012, he graduated from the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine with Master’s degree in state administration.

Honcharuk is also a graduate of Kyiv Mohyla Business School and an Aspen Institute Kyiv program. In 2008, he became the founder and managing partner of the law firm Constructive Lawyers.

In 2015-2019, Honcharuk headed the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO). He was also an adviser to Ecology Minister Ihor Shevchenko and First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv.

  • This government is not mine. I will not support it. Five years of opposition ahead for me. But i don’t care no more. When Zelensky and Putin are im the Hague tribunal, joined by Yanuk, Putin and Trump – i will be there to kill them myself! Cheers!

    • I am very nervous about these developments, but am willing to just watch Z for now. Short leash and a choke collar though. Yanukobytchand Pootie for certain in Hague tribunal. The Buffoon Goon is iffy on that, but may qualify for a private room in a psych ward.
