Russia should be invited back to G7, – U.S. State Secretary

The U.S. will work on the return of Russia to G7

The U.S. will work on the return of Russia to G7 as U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo stated during the interview to FOX59.

“The President (Trump) thinks that’s what we should do. I work for the President. Of course we’re going to work towards that end,” Pompeo said.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated during G7 summit in Biarritz that all members of G7 supported the position of Berlin that expects the progress in the implementation of Minsk Agreements, which should precede Moscow’s return to the club.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Russia might be invited to the next G7 summit but only as the quest.

Earlier Volodymyr Zelensky stated that until the Russian Federation returns Crimea and ceases hostilities in Donbas, there could be no talk of its return to the ranks of the G8 countries.

French President Emmanuel Macron offered U.S. President Donald Trump to invite Russia at G7 summit in 2020. Trump supported the idea of Russia’s return.

Spokesperson of the Federal Government of Germany Steffen Seibert stated that Germany is against Russia’s comeback to the G7 Group.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also opposed the return of Russia to a number of G7 countries

The Russian Federation was excluded from the G8 after the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

  1. “The President (Trump) thinks that’s what we should do. I work for the President. Of course we’re going to work towards that end,” Pompeo said.

Translated means: I don’t agree one bit with Trump over this, but I want to keep my job.

      • Great list redders! I would add to the ‘admissions’ : Litvinenko, Nemtsov, Politkovskaya, the Skripals, the false flag Moscow apartment bombings, the sacking of Gori, the deliberate firing of heavy weapons on apartment blocks in Mariupol and elsewhere and the widespread use of electricity and other forms of torture on Ukrainians and Tatars. Finally in Syria they have to come clean on the ‘double tap’ hospital bombings.

  2. Trump thinks…i never noticed that………besides he is changing his ‘opinion’ about any subject 3x per day.

    • Ukrinform, and RT. RT quote Pompeo,

Asked if Russia should be invited back so the group can become the G8 once again, Pompeo said: “Yeah, the President thinks so.”

I don’t see anywhere Pompeo saying he thinks Muscovy should be invited back.

What is your opinion?
