The U.S. will work on the return of Russia to G7 as U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo stated during the interview to FOX59.
“The President (Trump) thinks that’s what we should do. I work for the President. Of course we’re going to work towards that end,” Pompeo said.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated during G7 summit in Biarritz that all members of G7 supported the position of Berlin that expects the progress in the implementation of Minsk Agreements, which should precede Moscow’s return to the club.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Russia might be invited to the next G7 summit but only as the quest.
Earlier Volodymyr Zelensky stated that until the Russian Federation returns Crimea and ceases hostilities in Donbas, there could be no talk of its return to the ranks of the G8 countries.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also opposed the return of Russia to a number of G7 countries
The Russian Federation was excluded from the G8 after the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
