Motor Sich case: U.S. tries to convince Ukraine’s authority in danger of cooperation with China

According to Bolton, China tries to integrate into the economy of the countries all over the world, including through the project Silk Road and attractive investments

John Bolton, the U.S. National Security Advisor confirmed that he will try to convince the Ukrainian authority in the danger of the cooperation with Chinese. However, he refuse to comment questions tied with Motor Sich enterprise as European Truth reported.

Bolton expects that the Ukrainian authority will consider the possible consequences of the Chinese investments in vulnerable sectors. “Ukraine will make a decision but possibly, Ukraine will find a better choice, which will have better consequences for its citizens”.

He noted that there is a system of the approval of the contracts tied with the military technologies in the U.S. and Ukraine. It assumes the constitutionality when the contracts threatening the national security are blocked.

According to Bolton, China tries to integrate into the economy of the countries all over the world, including through the project Silk Road and attractive investments.

“The Chinese are not afraid to use the corruption or get this straight, bribes to get the decision, which they want,” Bolton said.

Earlier The Wall Street Journal announced that John Bolton plans to come to Kyiv to convince the leadership of Motor Sich enterprise and Ukraine’s authority not to conclude an agreement with Beijing on the sale of the enterprise. Bolton believes that the ownership of the plant will allow China to get access to important technologies.

Two Chinese companies Skyrizon and Xinwei Group filed the deal on purchase of over 50% of shares of Motor Sich to Anti-monopoly Committee of Ukraine.

Motor Sich is the enterprise in Zaporizhia, which develops, produces, repairs and services the aviation gas turbine engines for planes and helicopters as well as industrial gas turbines.

As it was reported earlier, the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) stopped the illicit activity of Motor Sich Company, which financed the activity of terrorist organization Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Moreover, they handed suspicion notices to the company’s director and head of financial department.

In 2018, the SBU held searches in the public joint-stock company ‘Motor Sich’ in Zaporizhia.

The officials of the company are suspected in the embezzlement of $14 million.

  1. “Ukraine will make a decision but possibly, Ukraine will find a better choice, which will have better consequences for its citizens”

I have no idea why Ukraine would want to let the Chinks come and steal the Ukrainian technology, but if the US are so worried, make Motor Sich an offer they can’t refuse.

  2. Even selling the Hop Sings 10% is a bad idea. Find another investor in NATO/NORAD aligned countries.
As an aside note: Erdogoon talking with Pootlerstan on partial construction of Su-35 and possibly Su-57 fighters is a major problem for NATO. That needs to be dealt with like yesterday. I doubt even had the US supplied the requested missiles to the Turkeys, that this could have had a different outcome. Now the only reasonable move is remove supplied weapons. Refund purchase price, with interest. I realize that is a big hit financially, but give the Turkeys no position to complain. After those missiles delivered are back in American hands, get the fack out of that shithole. Transfer personnel to the base outside Odesa or a base in east Romania. Either country would likely trip over themselves to host the US forces now in Turkey. Still close enough to the middle east. The Turkeys could get stupid with authorization on transit of the Dardanelles, but a little sabre rattling and reading the riot act concerning the use of basically international water should do the trick. Pootlerstan would step up activity in the Black and Azov Seas.
International relations and diplomacy has gone to the outhouse and not returned.
