Ukraine, United States agree on terms of additional supply of Javelins

The Governments of Ukraine and the United States are negotiating on the terms of additional supplies of Javelin anti-tank missiles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in Ukraine William Taylor said this to journalists in response to a question about the possibility of increasing the supply of AT missile systems, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We are ready to sell this weapon to Ukraine. Our governments are currently negotiating to agree on the terms of supplies,” Taylor said.

As Ukrinform reported, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in Ukraine William Taylor said that Ukraine had submitted a request to the United States for getting more Javelin anti-tank missiles.

In March 2019, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker also confirmed Ukraine’s interest in receiving more Javelin anti-tank missiles.

In late 2017, the U.S. Presidential Administration approved a decision to sell lethal weapons to Ukraine, including Javelin anti-tank missiles. On March 1, the U.S. Department of State approved the sale of 210 Javelin missile systems and 37 launchers to Ukraine to the tune of about $47 million.

    • They could buy a million of them, but they are just scrap metal if they are locked up somewhere in the West of Ukraine.

      • The issue the US military has is theft or corrupt persons selling one or more to Pootlerstan for their research and reverse engineering. When push comes to shove, they can be delivered in less than 12 hours where needed.

    • The US gives c.$3.5bn in aid to Israel and $1.5bn to Egypt. Surely it could give the javelins to Ukraine? Plus a lot more too. It’s really sad how Ukraine must feel almost alone to defend against a vast nazi power.

          • They show up on my phone, unfortunately seems the sidebar is pushed right down below the first article published. I assume your iphone is the same.

            • On Android all articles show like on Disqus. Once we have 1k articles it will take an hour to scroll to the bottom. Is it possible to show only the latest 30 or something?

              • I think it might be possible to have the sidebar appear before the articles on a mobile, but I guess most people want to see the articles anyway. The other way is to make the homepage the blog page, and have a new homepage that just shows a few excerpts from articles. If you look in the admin section, I made a page called test, which is an alternative home page. Click on preview and you will see it shows 8 articles, then the sidebar appears.

  1. Just watched a youtube video on this, looks like the ideal way to fuck up any vehicle let alone a Tank.
