23:10, 08 August 2019 – The new patch has a golden bident of SOF’s patron, Prince Sviatoslav the Brave.
A new patch of the Command of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine has been approved by the Chief of the General Staff, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The SOF Command insignia is a dark gray heraldic shield.

“The silver head of the Werewolf with golden eyes represents the governing, that is, the ‘main’ structure of the SOF. In its mouth, the wolf holds two arrows, symbolizing the enemy. One arrow is broken: it is a destroyed enemy. An intact arrow held in fangs means a neutralized enemy. That is, the head of the SOF decides which enemy to destroy and which – to neutralize. Arrows – are a dangerous, lightning-speed threat that is being destroyed.
According to legend, Cossacks with supernatural powers who could turn into wolves could catch arrows with their hands or beat them off,” the press service explained. A golden bident of SOF patron, Prince Sviatoslav the Brave, is also placed on the sign.
“The layout of the patch symbolizes the continuity of military traditions dating back to the warriors of the times of Prince Svyatoslav the Brave and the Cossacks with supernatural powers to the present times, as well as determination, perseverance and resolution in performing the tasks to manage subordinate military units of the SOF,” the message says. Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko has approved the new insignia.

Awesome new symbol, now let’s give these freedom fighters some tools!
Really deadly tools. Quiet tools would be excellent as the enemy then has difficulty pinpointing the source of attack.
